Board of Regents to Recognize 17 Outstanding ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Educators and Researchers, April 13

ADELPHI, Md. (April 6, 2007) - On Friday, April 13, 2007, the University System of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents will present the 2006-2007 Regents' Faculty Awards during its spring meeting at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Center for Environmental Science's Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons. Seventeen ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø educators and researchers will be honored for their professional accomplishments in the areas of research, scholarship, and creative activity; teaching; public service; mentoring; and collaboration.

"These 17 individuals represent the pinnacle of the extraordinary talent, innovation, and dedication that make our system's faculty among the best in the nation," said Clifford M. Kendall, chairman of the board. "We are proud of their accomplishments and very pleased to recognize them with the Regents' Faculty Awards."

Established in 1995, the Faculty Awards are the highest honors presented to ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø faculty by the Board of Regents. Awardees are selected by the Council of University System Faculty and approved by the board. Each award recipient receives $1,000 and a plaque of recognition for the honor.
