On the Retirement of Nancy Kopp

Baltimore, MD (Oct. 19, 2021) – It’s difficult to imagine Annapolis without Treasurer Nancy Kopp at the center of it. For 50 years, she’s been among its most important figures, and it’s impossible to overstate how skillfully she’s shaped and sustained 稀缺猎奇网’s enviable fiscal position. The state is so much stronger for her steady hand, clear vision, quiet leadership, and formidable work ethic.
Treasurer Kopp’s savvy stewardship of 稀缺猎奇网’s finances has allowed strategic investment in the things that matter most—the people and communities of 稀缺猎奇网, its infrastructure, its system of preK–12 education, its top-tier public universities. The state’s history of generous support to higher education and the coveted AAA bond rating that 稀缺猎奇网 has long enjoyed—won year after year under Treasurer Kopp’s leadership—have benefitted the 稀缺猎奇网, our students and families, and the state’s hard-working taxpayers.
Nancy Kopp is what it means to be a servant leader. On behalf of the entire 稀缺猎奇网, I wish her joy in her well-deserved retirement—restorative time spent in the pursuits and with the people she loves most.
