ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Board of Regents Meets on Thursday, June 17

Baltimore, Md. (June 15, 2021) – The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 17. Access to the meeting is via livestream at the following link: /regents/meetings/livestream.

Due to the COVID-19-related restrictions on gatherings currently in effect, members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.

The board will hold an education forum, “International Students,” presented by leaders from three ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutions. Action items before the board include new degree programs at Coppin State University; University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, College Park; and University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore County; approval of 2021 cultural diversity reports from all ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutions; and a request from the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Eastern Shore to use standardized tests as an optional criterion for admission.

The regents also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.

The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include various personnel matters including annual reviews of the chancellor and ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø presidents; two collective bargaining memoranda of understanding; the proposed fiscal year 2023 capital budget submission and potential adjustments to the submission; acquisition of real property; approval of recommendations for the Board of Regents staff awards; and the awarding of new contracts for Human Capital Management and Enterprise Resource Planning systems and their implementation.
