ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Board of Regents Meets on Friday, February 19
Baltimore, Md. (Feb. 17, 2021) – The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, February 19. Access to the meeting is via livestream at the following link: /regents/meetings/livestream.
Due to the COVID-19-related restrictions on gatherings currently in effect, members of the public who wish to comment during the public comment period of the meeting are asked to email their comments in advance of the meeting to the following email address: regents@usmd.edu.
The board will hold an education forum, “Ethics: Conflict of Interest.” Katherine Thompson, assistant general counsel for the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø State Ethics Commission, will present the forum.
The board will vote on proposed academic programs at three ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutions and will hear an information update on the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø fiscal year 2022 operating budget. The board will receive information items regarding the 2021 Series A and B bond sale and the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Public Health Challenge.
The regents also will hear reports from the councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
The final item of the public session will be a board vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings Act. These items include various personnel matters, including honorary degrees and faculty awards, and building naming requests.
