Two ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Board of Regents Committees to Hold Regular Meetings on May 5

Baltimore, Md. (May 1, 2020) – Two committees of the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents will meet on Tuesday, May 5.

The Committee on Education Policy and Student Life will meet in public session at 9:30 a.m. Access to the meeting is via the following dial-in information:

The committee will vote on several new academic programs. Those programs include a Master of Education in Culturally-Responsive Teacher Leadership at Bowie State University; a B.S. in Life-Cycle Facilities Management at Frostburg State University; a B.S. in Integrated Science at Salisbury University; a M.S. in Athletic Training at Towson University; and a B.S. in Cyber Forensics at University of Baltimore. The other degree programs are at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore: a M.S. in Global Health and a M.S. in Vulnerability and Violence Reduction.

The committee will hear two information items: an update on diversification of the faculty and an agenda brainstorming session for future committee meetings during 2020-21.

ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Vice Chancellor for Economic Development J. Thomas Sadowski will update the committee on several initiatives.

The committee will hear updates on ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø COVID-19 updates and activities, including the COVID-19 Research & Innovation Task Force, and an investment update on the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Momentum Fund. There also will be briefings on legislative priorities for the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Office of Economic Development, key competitiveness partnerships for the system, and a venture development report.
