ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet June 9

Adelphi, Md. (June 7, 2016) -- The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents Committee on Finance and the Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization will meet on Thursday, June 9. Both meetings will take place in the open area of the 7th floor library at the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore County (UMBC), located at 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD.

At 10 a.m., the Committee on Finance will vote publicly on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the committee would consider items specifically exempted in the Open Meetings Act from public consideration. Those items are: two real property acquisitions in the City of College Park; RFPs for housekeeping, information technology professional consulting services; and professional staffing augmentation for analytics, planning, and technology; and the proposed fiscal year (FY) 2018 Capital Budget submission.

During the public session, scheduled to reconvene at approximately 10:45 a.m., the committee will vote on several action items, including the ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø FY 2017 system-funded construction program request, the Thirty-Eighth Bond Resolution, and the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Eastern Shore Facilities Master Plan Update.  The agenda and supporting materials can be accessed .

The Committee on Economic Development and Technology Commercialization at noon will vote publicly on whether to reconvene in closed session to consider a request for proposal (RFP) for a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). In public session, the committee will hear three information items. These include a presentation by recently appointed ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Vice Chancellor for Economic Development Thomas Sadowski on ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø's increasingly vital strategic imperative to build on its success and focus resources more strategically on the state's economic development priorities.
