ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø Board of Regents Meets April 13
Adelphi, Md. (April
10, 2012) -- The ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø (ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø) Board of Regents at its
next meeting will present Regents Awards to faculty members and vote on several
new academic programs. The public session is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
Friday, April 13 in Room 232 of the Lane Center at Frostburg State University.
The Regents Awards are the highest honor presented by the
Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members. Offered in four categories, the
awards honor excellence in teaching; scholarship, research or creative
activities; public service; and mentoring.
New academic program proposals are under consideration at
several ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutions: the University of Baltimore; Coppin State University;
Frostburg State University; University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, Baltimore County;
University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, College Park; and University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø University
College.
In other action, the board will vote on a proposal to
approve room and board charges at ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø institutions for fiscal year 2013. It
also will vote on proposed ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø enrollment projections, the facilities master
plan for the University of ϡȱÁÔÆæÍø, College Park, and a proposed $5 million
increase in spending authorization for the Towson Center Arena project.
The regents will hear reports from the councils of
university system presidents, faculty, staff and students. The agenda for the

After the public meeting, the board will meet in executive
session.
